Dear FAA Community,

Sharing our dreams during Martin Luther King Day was a heartwarming way to start the year 2023! Parents, students, and teachers, altogether, discussing, drawing, painting, cutting, gluing, and building a future based on Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, was indeed the highlight of this month.

Among other good news, feel free to check out our revamped website, modern and attractive, reflective of our philosophy and pedagogy.

Lastly, January is also the second time in the school year (after Parent-Teacher Conference) to review your child(ren)’s progress through the report card. Please read our blog to get complete and helpful information on how to discuss your child’s grade effectively.

With gratitude,
Anne-Sophie Gueguen

An Underwater Adventure

The French American Academy Students

Get ready to dive into the deep blue sea, PK students!

This month, our PK students will explore the marine world, its ecosystem, and the importance of protecting it through various projects, such as writing a story about fabulous marine creatures, creating art from plastic materials, and creating an ocean diorama in their co-teaching science classes.

All PK classes in Jersey City and Hoboken will also deepen their learning with a fun field trip to the New York Aquarium.

Daring to Dream

Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion with Martin Luther Kind Day

For the second year in a row, the French American Academy designated Martin Luther King Jr day as an opportunity for our community to unite and celebrate the diversity and inclusion that makes our school so special.

This year, our lower schools in Englewood and Jersey City invited parents to participate in a shared learning day. We completed projects, engaged in discussions, and enjoyed activities that allowed us to “Dare to Dream” of a more just and equitable world. Read more about this special day on our blog.

Building Unity and Embracing
Dr. King's Vision

This year, on MLK Day, middle schoolers spent their morning with students who are part of Welcome Home Jersey City. This organization is committed to providing educational, employment, and material support to refugees. We took the time to get to know each other through team-building activities, games, crafts, and music. Then, we celebrated the end of this fruitful morning with an international potluck lunch.

This event was an opportunity to embody Dr. Martin Luther King’s vision and unite people of different ages and backgrounds, strengthening the community.
